PRESS RELEASE

On Saturday 23rd of November 2019 The Albert Inn, 50 Walsworth Rd, Hitchin SG4 9SU was acquired by Marketing for Hospitality LTD on a 12-year lease.

This is the second acquisition by the company, following last year's opening of The Golden Lion, Camden Town in 2018.

The Albert is a charming 19th-century pub, located just a few minutes walk from Hitchin train station on the way into the town centre and will retain its independent character while being modernised into a pub & dining room fit for the needs of the community.

The company is operated by Aaron Carter and Trevor Hunt. Between them, they are veterans of some of the finer pubs in London. Aaron was a part of the operations team for Distinct Group during the renovation of the Cromwell Hotel in Stevenage and opening of the Rump and Wade brasserie while Trevor's chef portfolio includes names such as The Drapers Arms in London.

In 2018 they set out on their own with a desire to put the customer firmly at the centre of their business and to develop under invested traditional pubs into thriving centres of the community while still retaining the traditional charm of the Great British Pub.

Their first venture The Golden Lion, Camden was voted CAMRA North London Pub of The Season (Summer 2019) and only last week it has received an honourable mention in Time Out Magazine as one of North London’s best places to go for a Sunday Roast, indicating the future looks bright for The Albert Inn, Hitchin.

The Albert Inn will serve a range of craft beers, real ales, ciders and premium spirits for customers to choose from as well as a thoughtful wine list, over 20 varieties of gin and of course freshly made dishes changing regularly with the seasons and prepared using the best locally sourced ingredients available.

Step inside and enjoy the unfussy vintage decor with a mixture of dining tables and quirky design features, inspired by the rich history of the local area, making it a charming destination for any social occasion.

Whether for a quiet mid-week drink, a bite to eat, coffee while you work or a lively gathering with friends, there won't be long before you can pop in and get acquainted with your new neighbours!
